AIM >> Get the Library and the Nightclub into contact, make them watch and touch each other

>> Analogy between the Library and the Nightclub :

¦ They both have to be isolated from the outside (light/noise)
¦ Thus, they meet each other in the same underground volume
¦ The Nightclub and the stocking/consulting of the books are buried
¦ The rest of the Library is at the surface on one and only ground level
¦ The terrace roof of the building offers a wide outside dance floor for the Nightclub

¦ The Nantes island (the site of the project) and its industrial past[almost present], the parcel where the “Quai West” (famous nightclub in Nantes) is/was, the future school of architecture of Nantes with its future huge shadow, the Loire with the skyline of the city in the foreground, the Sendai mediatheque, the Rezé mediatheque, the references I forgot, those I didn’t think of and those I don’t like (they allow me to know what I don’t want to do), the number 391 of the” Inrockuptibles” magazine and its article on the Kills and the Kills too.

OBJECTIF >> Mettre la Bibliothèque et la boîte de nuit en contact, les faire se regarder, se toucher.

¦ Elles doivent toutes deux être isolées du milieux extérieur (lumière/bruit).
¦ Elles se rencontrent donc dans un même volume souterrain.
¦ La boite et l’espace stockage/consultation des livres sont donc enterrés.
¦ Le reste de la Bible est à la surface, sur un seul niveau, de plein pied.
¦ Le toit terrasse du bâtiment offre une large piste de danse à la boite de nuit.
